Riddle me This

Riddle me This

A 'Riddle' is a question or statement asked; which is intentionally phrased so as to require  a 'thoughtful' and 'smart' answer or meaning.

I watched the movie 'Hobbit, An Unexpected Journey' and thoroughly enjoyed the brilliant 'riddle' exchange between Bilbo Baggins and Gollum.

I wanted to share with you today, the witty riddles uttered by these individuals.

    Gollum

Here it is below:

Gollum Riddles:
What has roots as nobody sees,
Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
And yet never grows?
A: Mountain

Bilbo Baggins Riddles:
Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouthless mutters.
A: Wind

Gollum Riddles:
It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,I
And empty holes it fills.
It comes out first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
A: Dark

Bilbo Baggins Riddles:
Alive without breath,
As cold as death;
Never thirsty, ever drinking,
All in mail never clinking.
A: Fish

Gollum Riddles:
This thing all things devours;
Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;
Gnaws iron, bites steel;
Grinds hard stones to meal;
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats mountain down.
A: Time

Well with every game, there needs to be a winner and a loser.  In this exchange of riddles, It was determined that if Bilbo Baggins answers correctly, then Gollum has to show him the way out of the tunnel inside the mountain.  If Bilbo Baggins loses, Gollum gets to eat him.  I will leave it to you to guess who wins this riddle exchange.

Thank you for visiting,

Review of the movie Zero Dark Thirty

Review of the movie 'Zero Dark Thirty'

This is is an American movie portraying the man-hunt for the 'most dangerous person' on the planet; his name is Osama Bin Laden.

The film was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal.

The search for 'Osama' eventually shows him living in a house in Pakistan, and the conclusion of the movie is of a raid on the home and and death of the man.

This is a well made 'thriller' of a movie.  Many different good actors are involved in the film, however my favourite is Mr Kyle Chandler, who like all of his other films I have watched him in, really gives a convincing performance.

In this movie he portrays Mr Joseph Bradley, who is a 'Military Base Tie Wearing Manager', located in Pakistan.  He was one of the individuals who needs to give the order to raid the 'home' of Osama Bin Laden.   For this role Mr Kyle Chandler was nominated for the 'Washington Area Film Critics Association Award' for being in the 'Best Ensemble of Cast' in a movie.

Watch the movie, as it is a very good movie, plus watch the performance of Mr Chandler.

Thank you,

Stephen Harper and Israel

Stephen Harper and Israel

The Prime Minister of Canada Mr Stephen Harper has stated the following at a 'Negev Dinner' in December of 2013; prior to a visit to Israel, on January 17, 2014.

“A light of freedom and democracy in what is otherwise a region of darkness.”

What the Prime Minister is saying is 'Israel' is the 'light' and all other countries in this region are the 'dark' (evil).

Based on Mr Stephen Harper, the following countries, who are neighbours of 'Israel' are the 'dark'.

Lebanon,
Egypt,
Irak,
Iran,
Saudi Arabia,
Turkey,
Syria,
Jordan,
Yemen,
Cyprus, &
Libya.

I will stop here, at the supposedly the  'dark' countries.  I am sure that Mr Stephen Harper could add another dozen countries to this list.

I do not believe the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr Stephen Harper should make these 'ignorant' comments.  Also, I do believe he is 'alienating' Canada from the world.

Sincerely,

Ben
