Annesinin Vasiyeti

Is yerinde calistigim bir arkadasimin annesi oldu 10 sene once.

Tabii 30 sene olmus Vancouver’dan Edmonton’a tasinali, ve o denizin kenarindaki picnic yeri biraz degismis.  Cok degismis, heryer ev dolmus.

Ama yinede buldu picnic yerini ve tam gunesin batisinda, annesinin kullerini denize doktu. Arkadas hickira hickira agliyordu.  Uzun sure deniz kenarinda oturdu cocukcagiz.

Cok etkilenmistim hatirliyorum.

Hayat boyle olsa gerek.

Yasadigimiz gibi oluyoruz.

Sherwood Park, a city just on the outskirts of Edmonton

I’m not a fan of Sherwood Park.

I always wondered how the people there, live there? Like all you see is the oil refineries.

When I played outdoor soccer and had games in Sherwood Park, I was never happy as it is just too far out there and the scenery is not nice.

I’m hoping residents of Sherwood Park can comment on their reason for living in close proximity to the refineries.

Does it not smell? You would think that it does.

Also, what about the scenery, not the greatest view, when driving to work and back, everyday.

People that live out there, must know something, I don’t.

Thank you,

Grandin Court Downtown

Grandin Court Downtown

Grandin Court is a condominium complex located in downtown Edmonton.  It is a 'walk-up' wood constructed, four story building.
There are approximately 50 units available, and the prices range from $250,000 to $400,000, in today's value.

Today is July 30, 2014.

The location of the complex might be in my opinion, at the best liveable spot, if you are looking to work and live in 'downtown'.
(((Picture taken on November 2013)))

It is in a quiet spot of busy downtown.

The address of 'Grandin Court' is 9828-112 Street.

I live here now and work on jasper avenue and 97 Street.

It takes me 30 minutes to walk to work now, instead of driving for a minimum of 30 minutes per day.

My recommendation to everyone is that, if able, try to live and work in close proximity, to save on time.  Particularly 'downtown' living has considerable amount of benefits, which I will write in detail, in another blog.

For now, I would like to focus on the beautiful complex of 'Grandin Court'.  It is a nice place to call 'home'.  And I do recommend living in this complex, particularly buying in here.

Thank you for visiting, leave a comment, if you have time.

Sincerely,

Ben

Editorial Letter Sent to Edmonton Sun

Editorial Letter Sent to Edmonton Sun

The editorial of Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 titled 'If you don't vote, don't complain' was rather laughable.  Please find it on the net, below is my email reply to 'Sun Media'.

          Sun newspaper
-------------------------

Hello,

Your editorial titled 'if you don't vote, don't complain!' is rather short cited.

As citizens of Alberta, Canada, we have been through many provincial/federal elections.   There have been many politicians which have come and gone, however the promises made and then forgotten as soon as the 'office' is secured, are numerous.

You might not want me to bring forth many of the so called 'taxes will not go up' speeches made, and afterwards in the comfort of a government salary/pension secured, the proclamation of 'well they need to go up', scenarios are many.

Also, an intellect such as you, a reporter/editor working for the media should figure out by now that a politician only serves the benefit of him/her self, not the constituents.

Therefore, the media is reading the low figures of the turnout at election day, as people being lazy or comfortable.

We the people are informed and do not buy into this game of 'elect me, I will work for you'.  This rhetoric is old now, therefore many citizens are not voting.

But, do not insult us and state 'don't complain'.    We pay over 40% of taxes in this country, and have children/parents in the government institutions, therefore allow us to make our points heard, even if we don't vote.

Since, my email is getting rather long, in another email, I will write to you of the alternative ways to elect and govern the people, but this format that we have is now old, corrupt and even immoral.

Finally in yet another email, I will further explain to the editors at sun media that our province is not protected by the borders any longer.   There are other individuals who have a say in how they want to be governed.  The ruling parties in each province/country are always rotating from governing to opposition party, but the ruling elite are always the same people/falmilies/organizations; who are the pinnacle of the elite, who rule with their own agenda, and my vote counts as much as the second hand movement of the 4th dimension.

Thank you for reading, if you made it thus far,

Ben

Jasper Place Public Library

Jasper Place Public Library

I am an avid book reader, and I love to visit the Public Libraries.

On my way to an appointment today, I drove in front of the 'Jasper Place Public Library ', and decided to stop, and visit this library.

Most people will not know this, but this is a 'New' building that had a grand opening summer of 2013.  The old building was demolished, to make way for this spectacular building.

The following are the benefits, besides picking up wonderful books, magazines and reading the 'daily ' papers:

-- a refuelling station for electric vehicles,
-- bicycle storage and change room,
-- water-efficient landscaping, to capture rain water,
-- abundant natural light,
-- 75% of construction, from recycled material,
-- 10% of the building materials were manufactured regionally, and
-- low emitting materials, from paints, carpets, wood etc.

This building looks incredible, however more importantly is that, the building is very welcoming to 'future' and 'current' book lovers.

Check out the pictures, I have attached.

Please make time to visit this building, if you are in the Meadowlark neighbourhood of Edmonton.

Thank you for visiting.

Lois Hole Public Library

Lois Hole Public Library

The west-end public library, located in Callingwood, is named 'Lois Hole' Public Library in honour of the 'Late' Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Mrs 'Lois Hole'.

This is the library, I frequently visit and wanted to write about today.

First, I would like to state that this is a 'new' and beautiful building.  The foyer/entrance is wide, inviting; with a statue of Mrs Lois Hole, sitting on a bench, welcoming everyone.

There are plenty of windows to allow natural light that filters into the large space all around.

The layout has been exceptionally designed, with separate areas for children, teens, study rooms, magazine browsing, and computer use area; all this, and a 'huge' aquarium full of colourful fish.

This library is 'grand' looking from inside and outside.

Now, let me write about the 'parking' area.  The amount and area allocated for the 'parking' to this building is not sufficient for the number of visitors entering daily.  Parking is very cramped, and I do believe, the 'City' did not properly research and investigate this 'Parking' issue.

However, overall, I am satisfied and grateful for this building; full of wonderful reading material.

Have you visited this library yet?

Thank you for reading.
