In The Shadow of Banff, Beautiful Canmore

In The Shadow of Banff, Beautiful Canmore

Here are a dozen pictures while driving to Canmore and finally the town centre of this beautiful and charismatic town; which lies in the shadow of Banff.

However, the charm of Canmore is quickly being noticed by visitors, and surely is becoming her own sought-after 'destination location'.

   100 km's away,

   50 km's away,

   25 km's away,

   5 km's away,

   Our hotel in Canmore,

   Town centre 1,

   Town centre 2,

   Town centre 3,

   Town centre 4,

   Town centre 5,

   Town centre 6,

   Town centre 7,

   Town centre 8, &

   Town centre 9.

Do make time to visit Canmore, in the future.

Sincerely.

Swedish Aspen Tree

Swedish Aspen Tree

I planted Swedish Aspen Trees in both the front and back yards of my home; and wanted to complete further research about these beautiful trees.

Here it is below, briefly:

Swedish Aspen Tree is a fast growing columnar tree.  It is ideally suited for urban or downtown homes where space is limited between properties.  The Aspen thrives in a variety of growing conditions and it requires little maintenance.

Also, the Aspen is an excellent wind break or screen for privacy tree. The leaves of the tree are large and green in color.  It branches near to the ground and goes straight up.  Plus, one thing to keep in mind,  of these trees are that they are all 'male' therefore, it will not produce the fluff to which so many people are allergic too.

Like I mentioned, I planted a total of five of them in my property and I will monitor their progress.

Attached, I have included a few pictures.

Thank you.

The Beautiful Tuco

The Beautiful Tuco

Eli Wallach, who played "the Ugly" character of the brilliant movie of 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly' has passed away quietly on June 24, 2014.

         Excellent actor - Tuco

Rest In Peace.

Mr Wallach was an American film, television and stage actor whose career spanned more than six decades, beginning in the late 1940s.

      the cemetery scene

Mr Wallach initially studied method acting under 'Sanford Meisner', and later became a founding member of the Actors Studio.

I first watched him in the spaghetti western mentioned about and always thought he was brilliant in this role.  'Tuco', one could argue, stole almost every single scene in the movie.  Now , we will not argue this, not the time, as the entire production with all the cast and members, came together to make the 'best' film in 'world' theatre, in my opinion.

        Another scene from the cemetery

Today, I wanted to bring to attention, this 'Beautiful' man passed away on June 24, 2014; and I am ashamed to admit I heard about this yesterday, on August 29, 2014.

My humble homage to this man.

RIP.

Thank you for visiting,

Beautiful Konyaalti Antalya

Beautiful Konyaalti Antalya

I took this picture June of 2011.

This is Konyaalti.

The 'town' is 20 kilometres west of Antalya.

Once here, you feel a sense of 'peace' and 'calm' in the air.

The warm Mediterranean Sea beckons a swim.

And the 'Beydaglari' Mountains wrap the town and they peak to the heavens quickly.

Makes for a beautiful picture.

Have you ever made it out to this far away place called Antalya?

Lois Hole Public Library

Lois Hole Public Library

The west-end public library, located in Callingwood, is named 'Lois Hole' Public Library in honour of the 'Late' Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, Mrs 'Lois Hole'.

This is the library, I frequently visit and wanted to write about today.

First, I would like to state that this is a 'new' and beautiful building.  The foyer/entrance is wide, inviting; with a statue of Mrs Lois Hole, sitting on a bench, welcoming everyone.

There are plenty of windows to allow natural light that filters into the large space all around.

The layout has been exceptionally designed, with separate areas for children, teens, study rooms, magazine browsing, and computer use area; all this, and a 'huge' aquarium full of colourful fish.

This library is 'grand' looking from inside and outside.

Now, let me write about the 'parking' area.  The amount and area allocated for the 'parking' to this building is not sufficient for the number of visitors entering daily.  Parking is very cramped, and I do believe, the 'City' did not properly research and investigate this 'Parking' issue.

However, overall, I am satisfied and grateful for this building; full of wonderful reading material.

Have you visited this library yet?

Thank you for reading.

The First Date

The First Date

Here is the story:

(told in point form; therefore fill in the gaps, in your mind)

Listen,

- when he was 19, she was 17,

- in Fatih, Istanbul, in the evening, when he returned to the neighbourhood from work,

- many girls in the neighbourhood would be perched infront of their windows waiting for him to come home,

- the girls would come out side to run into him, by accident,

- he was a good looking kid,

- however, he saw her,

- she was a beautiful young lady,

- he followed her home,

- he asked her out,

- the next night, he showed up at her front door, for the first date,

- he was wearing an old t-shirt, he was not-well-off...poor,

- she gave him a new buttoned down shirt, one of her father's,

- he wore it, they went out,

- after the date, they were walking back home late that night,

- her father sees them, from a distance,

- the father sees him wearing his brand new shirt,

- the father goes home to wait for his daughter,

- remember, this is not Canada, it is Turkia,

- it is 1966,

- the father looks in the closet, the shirt is not there,

- the father waits for her at the house,

- she comes home,

- the father asks her "who he was",

- she says, he lives around the corner,

- the father says, "I like him, he can keep the shirt",

- the young couple,

- my mom & dad,

Sincerely.

Tutusur Dizelerim

Tutusur Dizelerim

Below, I have written the words in Turkish, for the beautiful song.

If I receive many requests, then I will need to translate the words/song, from Turkish to English, or another language.

----------

Yigidim yigit, olmasına yar,
Yanık turkulere, vurmayın beni,
Tutusur dizelerim, dizelerim sonra,
Her biri yıldız, kendi halinde.

Geceleri inen, inen sessizlik,
Umarsız acan, eski yaradır,
İste gene yukseldi, duvarlar,
Etme gozlerim, koru kendini.

Sayiklasam dize, dizelerimden,
Acıyı duvar nemini.
Kirli gomlegimi, koklarmıs annem,
Koklasın siirimi, sıcak bir ekmek gibi,

Kirli gomlegimi, koklarmis annem,
Koklasın turkumu, sıcak bir ekmek gibi.

Soz:                       Nevzat Celik
Okuyan:                 Ahmet Kaya
Cok cok begenen: Bizler

This is a song, by Ahmet Kaya, with a YouTube link attached.
